Craving for cleaner, healthier or organic food in Bali? Does raw vegan or vegetarian cuisine sound delicious to you?

Without a doubt, Indonesian cuisine is delicious! But if you’re tired of having nasi goreng, mie goreng or other oily and spicy meals every day, there are actually many healthier options in Bali.

77 Extraordinary things to do in Bali you may not heard of

10 delightful brunch places in Bali to tempt your tastebuds

So you’ve read our recommendations for vegan and vegetarian food and gluten-free meals. And the good news is, that’s not all! We’ve dug out more cafes and restaurants where you can eat clean.

Why not start now? Your body will thank you for it!

1. You’ll find everything you “AVO” wanted at The Avocado Factory (vegan, vegetarian options)

Let’s confess, chances are you’ve searched for the green avocado goodness at many cafes in Bali, and when that craving kicks in, there’s quite nothing more disappointing than a menu where only avocado toast is available.

At Avocado Factory, you’ll be sure to not only find sustainably sourced avocado goodness, but also the most innovative and delicious avocado options, so you get to explore this super fruit in many forms, not only smashed on a toast with a poached egg resting on top (boring!).

Photo Via Dhstsgt, Princessgloriafeasts, Gemtracktravel

Here, you’ll find avocados in between two buns – in the form of burgers as well as pressed in juices, infused in tacos and more! Besides being guilt-free, they taste as good as they look! Plus, the avo-inspired decor and setting only add to the fruit obsession!

Photo Via Welikebali

Unlike other cafes, Avocado Factory makes eating avocado very versatile – here’s where you can get your avocado fix at any time of the day. Craving it for breakfast? Egg and avocado toast it is, or do you prefer an avocado smoothie bowl?

Photo Via Rachele18, Embaulis

Needing it around lunchtime? Go for their mixed salad. Really obsessed and want to have some for dinner? Remember that avocado burger is a thing at this cafe and it’s absolutely an amazing invention!

2. Come in at Herb Library for a healthy high tea party (vegetarian and vegan options)

Are you a high-tea person looking to be a little more healthy?

Bet you’ve always been thinking that this was impossible, but Herb Library proves you wrong with their high-tea set that comes on a  natural, three-tier banana stem and banana leaf platter and assorted with a selection of 8 sweet and 8 savoury herbivore and omnivore delicacies that go easy on the waistline.

Photo Via Kassidyelenifisher

Any type of eater is welcome at the cafe as a variety of meal options are offered – none of them are deep fried, while more than 90% of the ingredients are locally sourced, so they are fresh and healthy!

Some describe their salad as a motivation for clean eating while others came back several times for their fresh concoctions of fruit juices – mix and match your favourite fruits!

Photo Via Rmwilde

There’s something to suit both health-conscious and adventurous tastes at Herb Library, with everything being lovingly and freshly made to order – from avocado guilty pleasures to traditional Nasi Campur but also plenty of options for the dessert lovers (with Klapertart being an all-time favourite!).

3. Take your Japanese to an even healthier level: Tetsuo by Nook (vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian)

This is the latest addition to the Nook family and it’s got new Asian fusions! Instead of their usual Indonesian and Western options, they took it further with a 100% Japanese cafe serving an amazing array of vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian (no meat, fish only) dishes!

Photo Via Nook

What’s not to love about this cool little miracle serving hand-cut sushi rolls, Onigirazu sushi sandwiches, katsu burgers and poke bowls? Probably the only thing disturbing the cafe’s zen-like tranquility will be the person sitting on the neighbouring table, busy slurping on their delicious red velvet iced latte!

Healthy eating can be complex, and it seems like every month, a new diet or ingredient comes along, claiming to be better than all the rest, creates a craze, then leaves…

Although we don’t have the answers to this trend, we do surely know that Tetsuo by Nook is where you’re guaranteed a fresh, health-conscious feed, no matter what diet is trendy at the moment.

While waiting for your dish to be served and while preparing yourself to be impressed with its range of tastes and textures (because this is what you are sure to get!), walk through the cafe’s little boutique and pick up some homeware and unique boutique clothing pieces!

4. Sit down at In the Raw, a dog-friendly and healthy cafe! (vegan and vegetarian options)

There’s an unwritten rule of being in Ubud that you must love any meal served fresh, natural and healthy. That’s just pride right there, especially for the yogis.

Photo Via Infoodbali, Alivla

But if a cafe comes with cold pressed juices, good coffee, along with a variety of options including veggies and meat done right, it is a complete different story because it makes healthy eating so much better and so worth it.

Photo Via Spoonci, Chef.bobi_

Thankfully, the menu at In the Raw is more than a match for all of your healthy-wannabe cravings. Whatever time you decide to come in, you can rest assured that your tempeh patty will be juicy, your salad fresh and lively green and your avocado smashed to perfection.

The cafe is known to have one of the biggest range of cold-pressed juices on the island, with more than 15 different flavours and formulas, and they are all out-of-the-box refreshments!

Photo Via Patriciaparkinson, Djkattyq

Story time: When the cafe’s owner (Mark Baker) first came to Bali, he had no idea he would turn to this line of business. For those of you who party every weekend, you might be familiar with his name; if not, just know that Mark is known as “The former godfather of the NYC club world and former co-owner of the Bali nightclub Townhouse” – he has now switched from alcohol business to cold-pressed juices. And don’t miss out on his dog!!
