Almost every Jakartan out there is either a foodie-at-heart or a photo-enthusiast always on the lookout for Insta-worthy spots; or both for that matter! If that sounds a lot like you, then you’ll be excited about what’s coming right up in the city this weekend – Jakarta’s new Chinatown that’s filled with street art, traditional eateries and the coolest hangout spots!
Everything here is styled with a Chinese flair, it’s almost as if you’ve been transported out of Jakarta – from the traditional-looking food shops to the standing God of Wealth statue – you’re bound to feel like you’ve stepped into a local Chinese village. They even have murals ??, a big Paifang (a traditional Chinese gateway) as well as red pavilions surrounded by a mini moat you can snap tons of shots at – we bet your friends might even think you’re in China!
Foodies will also be pleased that there are tons of Chinese and Indonesian restaurants here, from Fish Head Bee Hoon and Pork Satay by Sate Babi Bawah Pohon to Nasi Lemak and coffee, as well as a grocery store you can buy snacks and other goodies from.
The soft-opening will be held on November 7 (this Saturday!!), so remember to spare time to come over and explore Jakarta’s newest Chinatown food street.
