Getting there: On the road out of Kuta, a few km before the turnoff to Mawun beach, turn right at the white-and-red sign down a rocky track. Bangkang Cave is located below the hill.

Getting there: There is no available public transport to the waterfall. It is situated about 32 km from Mataram or about 1 hour by car. From Mataram, you should go to Narmada City, Sedau, then head east until you find Pancor Dau intersection. Turn northeast until you find Teratak market intersection and travel north. Make sure to ask the local people if you feel lost, because there is only one way to reach the waterfall. For your safety, you can also hire a travel guide.

7. The ‘pyramids’ of Indonesia: Semeti beach (Lombok)

Surrounded by pyramid-like rock formations similar to the basalt rock formations in the Scottish isles, this wild and daring scenery makes for an incredible photoshoot location, different from your usual beach scenery.

15. Sweeping fields of green: Bukit Teletubbies (Bali)

If you love sprawling green fields, Bukit Teletubbies could be the pre-wedding shoot location you’ve been dreaming of.

And yes, you read that right! It is named thus because of its uncanny resemblance to the endless emerald-green fields seen in the children’s TV show, Teletubbies.

Bukit Teletubbies

Directions: Reach Nusa Penida on your own via boat services from Sanur or Padang Bai. Once on the island, you can hire a motorcycle to take you to the Bukit Teletubbies. Ask for directions to the closest village, Julingan, in the far south of the island.
