Christmas and New Year in Bali 2025–26: Where to dine, stay, shop and celebrate

Christmas in Bali swaps snow for warm weather, beachfront dinners, resort brunches and tropical New Year’s Eve celebrations. The year-end period is also one of the island’s busiest travel seasons, so accommodation, restaurant tables, event tickets and transport should be arranged early.

This guide brings together confirmed Christmas 2025 and New Year’s Eve 2025–26 dining, parties, stays, shopping and family activities, followed by practical safety advice for the festive period.

What to do on Christmas and NY in Bali?

1. Choose from Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas Day brunch and a family breakfast at The Westin

Prego is the Italian restaurant at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, serving pasta, wood-fired pizza and seafood. For Christmas 2025 the resort scheduled three separate festive sittings rather than one combined event.

La Vigilia di Natale – Christmas Eve dinner: 24 December 2025, 5pm–10pm. IDR 690,000 per adult, IDR 345,000 per child. Prices were subject to 21% tax and service charge.

Brunch di Natale at Prego: 25 December 2025, 12pm–4pm. IDR 850,000 per adult, IDR 425,000 per child. Prices were subject to 21% tax and service charge.

Children’s Christmas Party and Family Breakfast: 25 December 2025, 8am–10am. IDR 300,000 per adult, IDR 150,000 per child. Prices were subject to 21% tax and service charge. This was the separate activity associated with games, creative activities and Santa surprises, and was not part of the Prego brunch.

2. Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day brunch at Cucina

Cucina is the Mediterranean restaurant at Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort. Its 2025 festive programme ran as two separate events with different menus, times and prices.

Christmas Eve five-course dinner: 24 December 2025, 6pm–11pm, from IDR 899,000++ per person. This was the dinner price, not the brunch price.

Christmas Day brunch: 25 December 2025, 11am–3pm, IDR 1,250,000++ per person. Confirmed entertainment included live music, a children’s choir and Santa.

3. Choose from multiple festive dining venues at The Mulia, Mulia Resort & Villas

This entry covers the wider Nusa Dua complex, which includes both The Mulia and Mulia Resort rather than a single restaurant.

The Mulia’s 2025 festive programme included dining and entertainment across venues such as The Café, Soleil, Table8, Edogin, Ocean Pool, Sky Bar, The Bar and the Grand Ballroom. Outlets kept different schedules over the festive period, so confirm the sitting times for the venue you want.

4. Watch the final sunset of the year at Grand Seminyak

Grand Seminyak – Lifestyle Boutique Bali Resort sits on Seminyak Beach and runs its festive dining across two outlets: Moonlite Kitchen & Bar and Ocean Grand Beach Bali.

Ocean Grand Christmas Eve dinner: 24 December 2025, 5pm–10pm, IDR 450,000++.

Moonlite Christmas brunch: 25 December 2025, 12:30pm–3:30pm, IDR 650,000++.

Ocean Grand Christmas dinner: 25 December 2025, 5pm–10pm, IDR 550,000++.

The resort’s brochure also advertised Moonlite and Ocean Grand New Year’s Eve programmes starting in the late afternoon and continuing until late. No reliable public price was published for the NYE sittings, so check directly with the resort.

5. New Year’s Eve at FINNS Beach Club

FINNS Beach Club in Canggu scheduled a New Year’s Eve event on 31 December 2025 with Duke Dumont, MK and PNAU on the lineup.

Entry conditions: the event was 18+ and valid photo ID was compulsory, matching the purchaser and receipt details. Tickets were entry only and did not include food or beverage credit. There were no pass-outs, so guests could not leave and re-enter, and entry closed at 11:59pm Bali time. Tickets were non-refundable and non-transferable, subject to the event terms, and the event ran on a cashless credit system.

Regular entry is not the same as event entry. FINNS normally admits guests aged 16 and over and serves alcohol only to guests aged 21 and over. The New Year’s Eve event applied its own 18+ rule instead. Check the current ticket tiers on the official event page before booking.

6. Celebrate NYE with Dash Berlin at Café del Mar Bali

Café del Mar Bali brought the Ibiza brand to Canggu, with a white-washed terrace and a large seafront pool. Its New Year’s Eve event on 31 December 2025 ran from 3pm to 1am with Dash Berlin headlining.

This specific New Year’s Eve event was 18+. Outside special events, children are generally accommodated under the venue’s regular policy, so do not assume the event rule applies year-round. Ticket tiers changed across sales channels and currencies, so confirm the current price through the venue’s official channels rather than resale listings.

7. Watch the celebrations from Bali’s public beaches

Public beaches such as Double Six, Berawa and Batu Bolong are generally free to access, although parking, transport, seating and food or drinks may still cost money. Fireworks and music may be visible or audible from nearby venues, but this varies according to the year’s organised events, weather, visibility and local controls.

Throw a private party at your own villa!

Planning a private celebration? Only book a villa that explicitly permits events and outside visitors. Obtain written approval for the total guest count, music, catering, alcohol, security, parking, pool use, cleaning fees and noise curfew before making arrangements. Pre-book safe transport and never drive after drinking.

A normal accommodation villa is not a party venue unless the host publishes an event policy or gives written approval.

8. Bring in the specialists – Bali Party Professionals, Bali Catering Company and Island Graze

Bali has established suppliers for private celebrations, from event coordination to catering and grazing boxes. Ask every supplier for an itemised written quotation covering equipment, staffing, setup, cleanup, security, transport, cancellation and tax before you commit.

Where to stay during Christmas and NY in Bali?

9. Christmas dining and a New Year’s Eve countdown at W Bali – Seminyak

W Bali – Seminyak split its festive programme between its restaurants and its beachfront deck.

Christmas dining: 24 December 2025, FIRE set menu at IDR 1,950,000++. 25 December 2025, FIRE and Starfish Bloo Christmas brunch at IDR 2,600,000++, and Starfish Bloo Christmas dinner at IDR 1,950,000++.

New Year’s Eve: 31 December 2025 at WET Deck and W Lounge, headlined by David Penn with fireworks advertised. Early bird admission was IDR 700,000++ including IDR 300,000 food-and-beverage credit, door admission was IDR 1,700,000++, and table packages started from IDR 15,000,000++.

For New Year’s Day, the identified option was the Starfish Bloo brunch rather than a general pool session.

10. Festive dining and a clifftop NYE pool party at Radisson Blu Resort & Villas, Bali Uluwatu

Radisson Blu Resort & Villas, Bali Uluwatu sits on the clifftop coast in the island’s south, and ran a three-part festive programme in 2025.

Christmas Eve: 24 December 2025 at Artichoke Restaurant, from 7pm, IDR 900,000++ per adult.

Christmas Day: 25 December 2025 at Filini, from 11am, IDR 1,200,000++ per adult.

New Year’s Eve: 31 December 2025 from 7pm, a clifftop tropical pool party with live music, DJs and fireworks, IDR 1,850,000++ per adult.

General places to stay near the celebrations

11. Stay near Legian Beach – Fashion Hotel Legian

Fashion Hotel Legian is a fashion-led design hotel on Jl. Legian with a rooftop pool. It is listed here as a general place to stay near the celebrations, not as a verified festive package – check directly with the hotel for any seasonal programme.

12. Colourful, art-led rooms in Seminyak – Tijili Seminyak

Tijili Seminyak is an art-led hotel with colourful interiors and furnishings, roughly a five-minute walk from Double Six Beach according to the hotel. It is listed as a general place to stay rather than a confirmed Christmas package.

13. Celebrate Christmas and NYE in the Payangan valley at Padma Resort Ubud

Padma Resort Ubud sits in the Payangan valley, above a river gorge and surrounded by forest. Its dated 2025 festive programme ran across four scheduled events.

24 December 2025: Christmas Eve in the Valley. 25 December 2025: the Highland Christmas Feast and Natale Under the Stars. 31 December 2025: two New Year’s Eve dinner options, followed by a 10pm–12:30am countdown with live music, DJs, dance and fireworks.

Each sitting carried its own price, so ask the resort for the rate attached to the specific event you want rather than a single festive figure.

Where to buy your Christmas gifts in Bali?

Ethical gifts can support local makers, environmental organisations and community programmes. Check current product availability and prices directly with each organisation, as inventory changes. Start with these eco-friendly and ethical shops.

Bali Children’s Project supports education and child-focused programmes in Bali, including school sponsorship, libraries, school improvements and child-protection work. You can choose a current programme through the organisation’s official donation pages, and review its financial information first.

Donate or volunteer responsibly:
Short-term direct contact with vulnerable children can create safeguarding risks, especially when visitors are unqualified or organisations do not use appropriate background checks. Avoid orphanage visits and choose vetted, community-led programmes. 14. Shop fair-trade homeware – Balizen by zen zen

Balizen by zen zen is a fair-trade and sustainability-focused homeware brand with a store in Seminyak. Categories include bedding, table linens, vetiver mats and general homeware. Stock rotates, so check availability before travelling for a specific item.

15. Buy handwoven textiles and support the weavers – Threads of Life

Threads of Life works with more than 1,200 women across 12 islands in the Indonesian archipelago on a fair-trade basis. Sales support women’s livelihoods, cultural continuity, traditional textile knowledge and ecological practices.

The textiles use local materials, natural dyes and traditional methods, including ikat and other handwoven cloth.

16. Join the plastic-free movement – Bye Bye Plastic Bags

Bye Bye Plastic Bags is a youth-led movement founded in Bali in 2013 by sisters who were ten and twelve at the time. Its work empowers young people to campaign against single-use plastic bags.

The shop stocks T-shirts, tote bags and reusable bags, subject to live inventory, and profits return to the youth-led NGO.

17. See beachwalk’s scheduled Christmas activities

beachwalk Shopping Center in Kuta ran a Christmas programme for families in 2025. Christmas activities, including Santa appearances, were scheduled on selected dates from 20–25 December 2025, with a Santa parade on 20 December. Check beachwalk’s official channels for the daily programme.

The mall also hosted Unbox Joy: POP MART Christmas Town from 10 December 2025 to 14 January 2026.

18. Take a bamboo architecture tour – Green Village

Green Village grew from John Hardy’s vision for bamboo-based design and was developed through work associated with Elora Hardy, IBUKU, Bamboo Pure and local craftspeople. The result is a collection of bespoke bamboo homes built into the Ayung Valley.

Green Village-only tour: registration 11:30am, tour 12pm–1pm. IDR 195,000 per adult and IDR 135,000 per child aged 7–12.

Bamboo Factory + Green Village tour: registration 10:15am, factory 10:30am–11:30am, village 12pm–1pm. IDR 400,000 per adult and IDR 300,000 per child.

Tours ran Monday to Friday, subject to reservation, and advance booking was required. Confirm which houses, factory components and refreshments are included in the ticket you choose.

19. Farm for a day and meet Santa on the river – Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan ran two separate festive activities in 2025.

A. Rural Rhythms: A Day in the Life of a Balinese Farmer. Offered daily by appointment, priced at IDR 4,800,000++ in the 2025 festive material. The official itinerary covered a farmhouse breakfast and farming session, rice planting, a riverstone treatment and a riverside lunch.

B. Santa’s Arrival by River Raft. 25 December 2025, 11am–12pm, complimentary. Santa arrived by raft on the Ayung River, followed by festive treats and live performances at the kids’ club. This was a separate event from the farmer experience.

Festive safety: Drink only from reputable venues and be cautious with spirits or mixed drinks, as methanol poisoning remains a risk in Indonesia. Seek urgent medical care if someone becomes unwell after drinking. Never swim at night or while impaired, and arrange safe transport before drinking.
