If you think Bali wouldn’t be as fun if you’re traveling with the kids – these family-friendly beach resorts will make you think otherwise! In fact, it might actually be a great choice for a family vacation.
True, kids have a different definition of fun compared to us adults. But, when you are getting pools and facilities that are specially tailored for kids, combined with everything we adults love about resorts – who’s complaining?
So, if you’re considering going to Bali with your family and are looking for places that will maximise your fun quotient to put up at – take a pick out of these 10 family-friendly resorts you can stay at!
Note: The prices reflected below are the low season rates, and they exclude tax and service charges. Accommodation rates often change with room availability, and low or high seasons. We recommend double checking for the final prices before confirming your booking.
1. No matter your age or who you travel with, let everything be taken care of – Padma Resort Legian
Travelling with kids can be quite a hassle, it becomes even more of a challenge if you’re travelling with multiple people of different ages! You need to make sure to find rooms that will accommodate everyone (or at least which have interconnecting doors), a place which will preferably have lots of activities for the little ones, beyond that though, you need to find a resort which will allow you and the rest of your crew to enjoy yourselves as well!
Located just a stone’s throw away from the beach, and incredibly close to the airport, Padma isn’t lacking in all things sun, sand and sea.
Their best feature though? The swimming pool, or should I say ‘pools’! Decked out with five different pools, you could easily spend the whole day hopping in and out from one to another!
Not only that; this gorgeous resort seems to have endless greenery, great for kids to run around and perfect for a post-breakfast stroll around nature!
Now, since we mentioned about breakfast – it is good to know that the resort features three different venues for your first meal of the day; one of which is fully dedicated to families with young kids!
Coming back to the essentials – while the main pool is the perfect place for the family to base themselves, the lagoon pool is great for transporting yourself to a tropical paradise! The family pool will be the apple of all the kiddo’s eyes, featuring multiple slides, and a colourful mushroom fountain for endless fun!
For those who are a little older and looking to get away from all the commotion that the little ones cause, there’s an adults-only infinity pool which serves as the ultimate sunset location.
Relax by the swim-up bar with one of Padma’s giant martinis in hand as the lowering sun makes the waves glitter around you! Don’t worry about letting the cocktails flow too much, your little ones will be safe and sound at the kids club.
Now, if you happen to be there on a Friday, you’re in luck as you can party it up with their live music sessions! And when it comes to food, Padma doesn’t exclude either; whatever your dietary needs they’ll accommodate!
They even provide gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options or any other dietary requirement you might have. If you’re feeling a bit more creative, make your own sandwich or salad in the Deli where they cater to your meal completely to your liking!
Probably most essential, you also get to enjoy a departure lounge that welcomes guests for free – an absolute comfort when you have a late-night flight and in need of a shower and rest after having explored the last bits of Bali! Clearly, Padma Resort Legian understands when it comes to travelling with the whole family!2. Enjoy one of the best areas in Bali with this incredible stay – FuramaXclusive Ocean Beach Seminyak
Seminyak is one of the most renowned areas in Bali, much better than its older brother Kuta, and more established than its up and coming little sister Canggu. You’ll find a mix of both the hipster, the modern, and the traditional in Seminyak, which makes it the most convenient place to base yourself with your little family!
FuramaXclusive Ocean Beach Seminyak lets you enjoy this hip beachtown – it is family-friendly like no other!
Now, of course, one of the best features of this place is the pool. Meandering through the different buildings, it almost feels as though you’re swimming in the canals of Venice!
If you’re feeling a little worn out though, the massive waterpark will keep them busy! Decked out with a multicoloured slides, endless places to climb, and a steady flow of fountains, it’s a literal child haven.
With Double Six beach just a simple hop over the street from it, and an endless row of gourmet restaurants next to it, there’s really nothing else you need during your stay in Bali.
A quick walk down the road takes you to all the souvenir shops you can imagine, massage parlours are plentiful, and anything else you may find yourself wondering about is merely a short taxi ride away!
3. Enjoy facilities from two resorts all at once! – RIMBA Jimbaran BALI by AYANA
RIMBA and AYANA are two incredible resorts, which only become even more impressive when you realise that each one gives access to the other (perfect considering they are right next door to each other!).
It’s really the pools though that take the stage, RIMBA’s lower pool hides a bright green water slide, and when your kids go on it, they’ll exit to a cascading waterfall giving the illusion that they’re in a different realm! Their famed kids’ club? Hidden through a secret entrance via one of the poolside cabanas, merely a stone’s throw away from the slide! AYANA’s pool is nothing to scoff at either, equipped with two different slides, these two resorts are a family’s dream!
Besides, the resort comes with expansive gardens to explore, an absolutely gorgeous tea lounge covered from top to bottom with orchids, and spectacular sunken lounges to watch mesmerising sunsets from. In fact, there’s really no reason why you wouldn’t want to stay here the whole day.
So while there are big plus points for solo travellers, couples, and people looking to have a good time, what’s in it for those with families?
Apart from the spacious rooms, endless places to play hide and seek, and multiple swimming pools spanning several levels, sizes and depths, RIMBA is also home to a kids club!
One thing is for sure – you’ll have no time to get bored here; there’s endless fun awaiting the little ones while you can always escape and indulge in pure relaxation!
4. Come in for an all inclusive royal treatment – Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso Bali
Seriously though, there’s nothing better than a beachfront resort. Being able to walk from your room to the sand without having to leave the hotel always gives off such a satisfying feeling, it’s like the ultimate luxury! What’s even better is when the pool overlooks the ocean, so that they blend almost seamlessly together at certain angles, it’s pure bliss.
And when it comes to activities and amenities, Grand Mirage has plenty to choose from! There’s the adults-only infinity pool, perfect for escaping the crowds and the noise.
But also, there’s the incredible family pool equipped with a huge slide. Now for the cherry on top of the icing – their mini waterpark, which your kids will be raving about for months!
The best part about Grand Mirage Resort Bali is that it’s an all-inclusive resort, that essentially means that you don’t have to worry about anything at all, from food to transport to activities, everything is taken care of for you while you enjoy the comfort of their luxurious rooms!
5. Fun for everyone: Bali Dynasty Resort
A beachside resort located near Kuta’s famous beach and shops, Bali Dynasty Resort has something for everyone. Be it kids who want to splash in the water, teens who want to meet new friends, or parents who simply need to relax, you will be surprised by the thoughtful facilities and rich programmes that Bali Dynasty has to offer. Family vacation has never been so easy!
Your kids will go crazy at the unbelievable 56-metre-long caterpillar splash waterslide that flows directly into the pool, with a giant tipping bucket, water curtain and bubble jets – we bet they will be thoroughly entertained the whole day.

Fun never ends for them with the Kupu-Kupu Kiddies’ Club, which is free of charge, with daily organized activities like a watermelon-eating contest, water-pillow fighting, duck feeding or kids yoga.
There is something for teens as well! At The Den, a club with free entrance for teens 10-16 years old, they can beat the best score at the X-Box and PlayStation, watch movies, play pool or table tennis. But the best thing is, there are no parents here!
After all the fun and games, head to the H2O Restaurant, where all kids below 12 years old eat for free from the buffet when accompanied by same number of paying adults. Every evening comes with a different themed buffet from around the world. And there are many more restaurants to choose from – Golden Lotus where you can taste Chinese cuisine and Gracie Kelly’s which has an interior of a 100-year-old Irish pub!
Pamper yourselves at Ashoka Spa, which offers various types of treatments and massages (they even have one specially for kids!).
When the kids are finally resting after a day of fun, adults can head for a drink at one of the 5 bars. For the ultimate sunset experience, we recommend a cocktail at the upper deck of H2O and savour the precious moments of your holiday!
