Besides affordable spa and workshops, Cantika, a homely shop tucked away in a forested village in Ubud, also sells completely organic cosmetic products.

All those shampoo, face masks and body oils come with colorful flowery labels and serve as great gifts from Bali.

If you book in advance, the friendly owner Jasi will explain to you how the products are made and give you a tour of the garden.

6. Do-it-yourself natural medicine and skincare: Angelo Store

A shop owned by a Balinese family organizes special workshops, during which the family would share a bit of their family recipes for natural medicine and skincare products.

During the workshop, the owner, Mr Komang Angelo, will teach you how to prepare healing drinks and products for hair and body treatment, all derived from the purest natural ingredients.

And as a pleasant bonus, you get a neck massage too!

7. Toxin-free beauty products for all travellers: Enfants Paradis Store

An Australian company, Enfants Paradis, has come up with trendy, unisex and toxin-free beauty products that are free from animal-testing.

They are designed in a very simple and practical way, so you can bring them everywhere with you.

The store also sells handy cosmetic cases, elegant kimonos made of pure silk or soy wax candles.

For travellers who may be dealing with jet lag, we highly recommend the Jetlag relief bath salt!

8. Spice up your eyewear: Eco Ego Store

Specialising in all things wood, Eco Ego Store is where your next stop should be if you’re after some adorably sustainable sunnies. Born and bred in Bali, and using only sustainably sourced bamboo/wood, you will look absolutely fabulous wearing them as well as knowing you haven’t contributed to the ever growing plastic problem!

9. Transform your home into an eco-friendly paradise – Bali Zen

Bali is the perfect place to stock up on your home decor, with plenty of batik shops around, and gorgeous macrame wall hangings up for grabs, you could easily turn your home into a tropical sanctuary. While roaming markets for these goodies is a good option, an even better one would be to visit Bali Zen!

Sustainable, fair trade home decor is what awaits you as you enter this shop. Beautiful batik bedsheets, and outstanding woven placemats are just some of the wonderful things you can find to decorate your space back home. There’s nothing quite like finding that perfect date night outfit, whether it’s a sexy little black number, or a colourful flowy masterpiece. When you have the right outfit on, confidence just oozes out of you.

Cinta Bumi Artisans is exactly where you’ll find pieces that make you feel amazing. 11. For handmade soaps and jams: Kou Bali and Kou Cuisine

Behind the name Kou is two sister stores in Ubud.

On the other hand, Kou Cuisine produces natural and delicious handmade jam. Try the favourite – milk caramel or an exotic combination of pineapple and guava.

12. Eat clean, shop organic: Earth Cafe Bali

This vegan cafe promoting healthy lifestyle sells over 1000 varieties of products. On the shelves, you will find fresh organic fruit and vegetables, seeds, nuts and treasures such as organic chocolate, kombucha drink, coconut nectar or even vegan toothpaste!

They also sell natural skincare products from several companies such as Skin Philosophy and Green Factory.

You can try this unique and natural locally-made product – soap nuts! Be careful though, they may look tempting, but aren’t actually edible!

After you’ve finished your shopping, enjoy some mouth-watering healthy vegan food in the cafe!

13. Stock up on healthy snacks: Bali Buda

Bali Buda has a vast range of products, from organic fruit and vegetables to gluten-free pastries, homemade pesto, dressings, sambal and peanut butter to pure Bali coconut water.

Organic cosmetic products can be found there too.

The food that Bali Buda sells is grown on organic farms and controlled by the BOA (Bali Organic Association). So you can be sure that it’s 100% organic and as chemical-free as possible.

To reduce waste disposal, you may buy nuts, lentils and snacks from Bali Buda’s bulk dispensers. Take the exact amount you need, pay less and both sides benefit. What a great idea!

Your purchase will be packed in creative recycled bags.

You will find their shop on four addresses, so the next time you pass by, you can stop by for a  yummy snack bar!

14. Where you can get some organic and nutritious baby food: Mini Muncher

Every mother knows that the right amount of nutrition is one of the most important things for a baby.

But mom can’t spend the whole day in the kitchen, so these healthy, organic and nutritious baby food purees by Mini Muncher will give the infant all that needed boost!

Packed in BPA-free containers, these purees do not contain salt, refined sugars, artificial flavoring, coloring or preservatives! They come in 14 yummy flavours, and you can choose between smooth or textured purees.

In Canggu shop, you can get healthy, fresh food for reasonable prices. They have the best dried fruit, nuts, all kinds of seeds, coconut sugar and coconut flakes!

And if you are seeking Balinese cheese, this is the place!

Homemade hummus, flavoured kombucha, fresh almond milk or kefir full of probiotics are also items that are not easily found in Bali.

But from now on, you know where to look!

16. With locally-produced organic yums: Juice Ja Cafe

From its exterior, Juice Ja may appear to be just another cozy cafe in Ubud, but if you enter and take a closer look, you will find a few shelves full of healthy food in the corner!

The owners try to keep everything as organic and as local as possible, so they have even started their own farm near Ubud, from which the ingredients used in the cafe are taken!

Homemade jams, chutneys, pure honey from the Bali mountains, spirulina powder and wheatgrass juicer manual – these are some items you can buy from the cafe.

And while you are there, try the wheatgrass shot – it will give you an energy boost!

17. Catering for the healthy-minded: Healthy Choice

Healthy Choice is one of those shops where you can find almost everything – food, beverages, baby food and beauty products.

Try these: a 100% organic beetroot drink or a non-GMO soy sauce (Liquid Aminos) great on salads, veggies or tofu

What distinguishes them from other organic stores is their catering service. You can cater fresh and healthy organic meals for your party in Bali!

18. Freshest herbs and vegetables: Bio Mart Kerobokan

Who would think that a supermarket would sell fresh herbs?

Bio Mart has its own greenhouses where they grow herbs such as coriander or basil, and organic vegetables. You can also get organic rice and other products for daily consumption.

19. Buy directly from the farmers: Ubud Organic Market

If you happen to be in Ubud on Wednesday or Sunday morning, drop by to take a peek at the Farmers Organic Market.

With a warm and friendly atmosphere, it is nice to just walk around, chat with the farmers and support local produce!

20. Groceries delivered to your doorsteps: Island Organics Bali (Online)

Don’t feel like stepping out of the door to do your grocery shopping? Need to tend to the crying baby?

You can do your grocery shopping online at Island Organics, and they will deliver it right to your doorstep. And to make things even simpler, Island Organics also offers The Harvest Box, which consists of a mix of vegetables and herbs.

Look – even the chickens are super healthy after eating oatmeal and spirulina powder. And their vegan pestos are simply divine!
