15. For a laid-back family getaway in the ‘real Bali’ – Hyatt Regency Bali

If you ask me; there’s no better place to escape busy Kuta and Seminyak than a getaway to the tranquil and laid-back Balinese beach town of Sanur.

Everything here seems to be more enjoyable. During my visit, I could feel the real “community” vibes – locals know and simply respect each other. Eventually, I am sure that as a parent, all you ever look for when travelling with kids, is a safe area – that’s exactly what you’re in for when booking a staycation at Hyatt Regency.

There’s an expansive garden for your little ones to run free and tire themselves as well as a fun kids club that runs daily activities – and they aren’t confined to a four-walled room as several activities on their programme are conducted outdoors (Balinese Dance, Fish and Duck feeding, Hulla Hooping and more).

On Sundays, most families reunite around their delectable Sunday Brunch that takes place at their Pizzaria Restaurant, right by the beach. It’s one special time and I’d recommend you to drop by even though you aren’t staying overnight.

Rooms are also super family-friendly with their premium category offering a small green area (perfect for toddlers) while their family suite features partial ocean views and a balcony – it accommodates up to three adults so it’s ideal if you have a teen!

Needless to say, they have a pool too. Oops I mean… three pools! The kids’ pool comes with a cave and slide. I guarantee you’ll have so much fun!

16. How about some fun family playoffs? – Mercure Resort Sanur

Located on the beach, Mercure Resort Sanur offers great Balinese-style accommodation – 41 traditional cottages with thatched roofs, private terraces and free Wi-Fi!

Before we talk about Prama Sanur, let’s talk about 3 potential adventures your kids will enjoy on Mertasari Beach.

Come down to the beach during low tide, and have fun exploring the marina around. Crabs, shells, starfish and more – the kids will get to have fun hands on experiences with marine life.

There’s a great variety of watersports available on the beach if you’re interested. (Prama Sanur provides watersports with RipCurl.)

Lastly, if you’re here during kite season, your kids will enjoy watching the kite teams keep the kites up in the sky – just imagine a beautiful scene of a sky full of kites!

Back to Prama Sanur, this property provides 2 outdoor pools for swimming and poolside lounging and a splash zone pool for the kids!

They also have tennis and volleyball courts; pampering spa services and yoga; and fitness center. You may also want to know that they have a kids club, so parents get to drop off their kids and take some time out for romance.
