Personally, I feel like all holidays with your sweetheart should be treated as a honeymoon. It’s a time to connect with each other again after working long hours and only being able to see them when you’re tired, grumpy, and needing to vent about that annoying co-worker.
So whether you’ve just tied the knot, or you’re looking to escape the world with your boo, there’s no place better than Bali to do so! By the end of these 5 days and 4 nights, you’ll leave the island of the Gods feeling more attuned with each other, feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and with the spark in your relationship being stronger than ever.
Enjoy endless sunsets together whilst you sip on carefully curated drinks, enjoy watching the waves lap the shores of secret beaches, and enjoy the wonderful tranquility that Bali injects into your soul!
Watch the waves crash below you and feel completely at peace – Spa on the Rocks at AYANA Resort and Spa, BALI
With so many things to do in Bali, you may sometimes find yourself feeling overwhelmed with sore muscles, and a desperate need to relax. That’s where AYANA comes in – their one-of-a-kind Spa on the Rocks is the perfect place for you and your sweetheart to unwind in luxury.

Indulge in one of their intensely soothing massages that feature a 180-degree view of the ocean, and you’ll find yourself feeling like you’re on the edge of the world. With the waves crashing onto the rocks, providing you with soothing sounds of the sea, you’ll feel at one with nature as your masseuse takes you to new heights of relaxation.

Opt for their signature treatment, the Diamond Miracle, curated with the world’s most luxurious elements: diamonds, pearls, silk, and champagne. What better way to fully immerse yourselves in AYANA’s world of elegant comfort? Lasting a whole two and a half hours, this treatment will fully rejuvenate your senses, allowing your muscles to release their tensions, and your mind to shoo away any thoughts of stress. Finish it off with a romantic rose petal bath together, submerged in 500 spectacular red petals and surrounded by the ever constant waves.

After enjoying the experience of a lifetime, wander over to their Rock Bar, perched delicately on the edge of a cliff so as to allow you to be as close to the horizon as possible. Itinerary
Day 1
Healthy foods, caves, and magical sunsets in the south of Bali!
Exploring secluded beaches, exploring caves, and watching incredible sunsets make for the perfect first day in Bali!
Experience Indonesia on a plate – Dugong Restaurant at Suarga Padang Padang (1 hour)
Utilizing locally grown ingredients while being perfectly set in natural surroundings, Dugong Restaurant promises more than just an oceanfront dining experience. We simply love the fact that it aims at being an ethical eatery by sourcing ingredients within a 50-kilometre radius, thus contributing to local farmers and producers!
The restaurant is set in a sustainable, yet sophisticated open-air bamboo house where you get to enjoy a panoramic 220 metre-high cliff top ocean view.
The chef’s recommendations include their Steamed South-Asian Turbot with Soy Bouillon or the delectable Chicken wrapped in banana leaf, both highly praised by previous diners who would often put a sweet ending to their experience by ordering one of their heart-warming Chocolate Fondant.

Check-in to a slice of heaven – Gravity Bali Hotel (1 hour)
If you’ve heard that gravity is the force that draws us down to earth, this little hotel in Uluwatu might rather take you to paradise!
We love a good beach rental as much as we love Bali and luckily, this photo-worthy stay is located a short distance from Uluwatu’s enviable stretches of sand and surf. Located in a small alley in Jalan Labuan Sait, you’ll find 15 comfortable bungalows at Gravity, all designed in boho style and with ultimate beach vibes.
Whether you just want a place to lay your head between beach days or a home that lets you choose between ocean and pool, there’s something here for everyone.
On the outside, you’ll find refuge at their green garden with gazebo and a cascading infinity pool dotted with sunbeds and loungers. At first glance, you might think you’ve been transported to romantic Santorini.
With its Instagramable, chic, and chill venue, we bet it’ll hard to fight and leave gravity.

Wander into a cave – Suluban Beach (1 hour)
Everyone knows Suluban Beach to be a surfers’ paradise, but Suluban Cave might just be the real treasure here.
Looking almost like a movie set from the Pirates of the Caribbean series with its otherworldly glamour, Suluban Cave oozes both mystery and mystique.
Located directly under Uluwatu, the cave actually leads up to the beach near Uluwatu Temple, another incredible sea temple you should definitely visit too!

Experience a Magical Sunset – Uluwatu Temple (2 – 3 hours)
Located on the clifftop, Uluwatu temple is (for sure) the temple with the best view in Bali. And the view is even more enchanting if you watch the sun go down beneath the crashing waves as the temple stands as an iconic landmark in your photos.
You can watch the evening Kecak Fire Dance performance at sunset for a more cultural experience.
Beware of mischievous sunglasses-snatching monkeys, though!

Watch the colours of the sky dance and change – Rock Bar (1 – 2 hours)
If the majestic view at Uluwatu Temple is not enough to impress you, the awe-inspiring clifftop view from Rock Bar will!
Here, you can stand with a 360-degree view of the Indian ocean and your loved one by your side. Invite him or her for a Rock My World cocktail (made of Vodka, Grapefruit and Pineapple Juice, Grand Marnier and Fresh Orange) and watch the sunset together!
If you reach here after dusk, Rock Bar will still be an enchanting venue for after-sunset drinks!

Day 2
It’s all about the food scene in Canggu
Head back up to Bali’s most indulgent area, with beautiful cafes in every nook and cranny for you to explore.
Enjoy breakfast under the palm trees – La Lucciola (1 hour)
Start your day with a nourishing breakfast with a view of swaying palm trees and the infinite ocean. With a menu ranging from scrambled eggs to waffles and pancakes, La Lucciola has everything you can think of!

Shop for your new home and stop to smell the roses – Rose Avenue (1 – 2 hours)
You don’t have to like floral prints and roses to want to visit Rose Avenue. Known for its rose-laden facade (and we’re talking about a wall full of red and pink roses), Rose Avenue offers beautiful homeware items from a pineapple shaped bottle opener to rattan swings.
If you think that pastel is the only color palette Rose Avenue has. You’re wrong. They have neon colors, as seen in their flamingo coat/towel hook – and in the apples, pineapples, and other tropical fruits that can be used as decorations or paper holders.
You can even get design inspiration through their dining table set-up, or pick through the different types of dinnerware, placemats, table cloths, and anything you fancy.
Even if you’re just looking for one eccentric piece, such as a rattan swing, or a bright pink chair that opens up like a flower – you’ll definitely be in the right place.

Lunch in the paddy fields – Nook (1 hour)
Everything tastes better with an awesome view.
At Nook, you can dine right in the middle of the paddy fields. Choose from a variety of Indonesian or Western cuisine, and don’t forget to treat yourself to a sweet dessert!

Check in to your private pool and villa – The Chand’s Villa Batu Belig (1 hour)
If you’ve been dreaming of spending your honeymoon lazing together by your private infinity pool, while looking out into the shimmering ocean… Here’s your dream come true.
Located on Batu Belig Beach, D Chandrasti is another surprisingly affordable find, with its stunning private infinity pool coupled with the ocean view!
Trust us when we say these are hard to find, and at these prices too.
The villa comes complete with a living room, dining area, kitchenette, and last but not least… A bathtub fit for 2.
Honeymooners will thoroughly enjoy the beachfront location, stunning views, villa facilities, and have a splendid time soaking it all up.
PS: While you’re here, you definitely have to make your way down to La Laguna, also situated around Batu Belig Beach. Again, trust us when we say you’ll have a fantastic time sipping on cocktails (or beers for the men) here. ;p

Indulge all your senses at an Afternoon High Tea – Metis (1 – 2 hours)
Perched up in the Lounge, enjoying the trendy atmosphere, 360-degree views, and dainty pastries ticks all the boxes for us.
That said, you may prefer Le Jardin for a spot of tea on the tranquil and lush terrace of this super cool restaurant.
The choices don’t stop at your dining location, as you’ll also need to pick the high tea package you prefer. The Melati or the Alamanada – don’t worry both are equally delicious!
The Melati – A perfect balance of savory, spring rolls and sandwiches along with cakes and sweets.
Alamanada – If you have a sweet tooth, then this will give you the sugar rush of your life. Feast on a spectacular array of cupcakes, chocolate éclairs, macarons and brownies.
This is one for couples, it’s luxurious and has got a great atmosphere. If you are inspired by the beautiful interiors, then visit the onsite gallery and shop to top off the perfect afternoon.
Transport yourself to the Ibiza of the South – Sunset drinks at Cafe Del Mar Beach Club (1 – 2 hours)
With its roots firmly placed in Ibiza, Cafe Del Mar is no stranger to catering for the best parties in the world! With its gorgeous all-white exterior, beachfront access, and baby blue complementing hues, you’ll find yourself feeling as though you’re in the Mediterranean itself.
Having only recently opened its doors in September 2019, you may be one of their first few guests – will your friends envy you or what?! Enjoy a cocktail or two while lounging on their day beds and watching as the sun slowly sinks into the horizon, the perfect end to the day.

Explore the flavours of Italy – Dinner at Damaria (1 hour)
If you want a taste of Italy while in Bali, this is your ticket to some seriously delicious dishes. Da Maria Bali, with its refreshing and distinctly Mediterranean colours and interior decor, will give you the impression that you’re dining in the sunshine on the Amalfi coast.
Between scrumptious Italian dishes like flavourful crispy pizza (made in a real brick oven!) and fresh, savoury pasta, we guarantee you’ll leave here already wanting to come back. Don’t skip dessert; the tiramisu is praised by all who try it.
Swing by on a weekend, when the party really starts! Every Friday to Sunday, the casual feel of dinner gradually morphs into live music and disco after 10pm. Grab a drink and a dance partner and spend the night partying to tune-spinning by local DJs!

Unleash your inner hipster – Shopping around Love Anchor (1 – 2 hours)
Canggu is hipster enough and you know it.
If you walk along Jalan Batu Bolong after the sun sets, you can’t miss this exciting Instagrammable market made up of a complex of restaurants, bars and shops, decorated with dreamy fairy lights and illuminated with a cheery vibe as the crowd pours in for their after-dinner drinks.
And on Sundays, the area is transformed into the most happening bazaar with pop-up stalls.
Here, you can find trendy and whimsical island fashion, accessories, homeware, dreamcatchers, trinkets and even old school artwork. And if you keep an eye out enough, you can even discover some hidden gems for your kids.
Or if you are here for a drink, don’t miss the daily Happy Hour!

Day 3
Head up to where the air is cooler and the jungle reigns king!
A change of scenery is good for the soul, so surround yourself with greenery in Ubud!
Experience the slow life – Breakfast at The Slow (1 hour)
Located in Bali’s coolest neighbourhood, The Slow is a multifaceted island stay incorporating boutique accommodation, all-day dining, drinks, art, local culture, and interactive retail – a place to stay, eat and play (that’s how they call it!).
The spot is a post surf, pre yoga joint for some morning eats and helps to recharge with an amazing menu that focuses on wood-grilled meats and seafood, local vegetables, farm greens, and field grains.
Whether you are staying there for the night or simply dropping by for a quick bite, know that the entire menu at The Slow is based on seasonal produce, with fruits and veggies coming from a co-owned local farm.
Sit down for an Ancient Grains Porridge – a fruity selection on their menu that combines red rice milk, grapes, java apple, almonds and mint while your travel companion gets hands on their warm Banana and Jackfruit Bread. This morning eat comes with fresh banana, passionfruit ricotta and coffee nectar and is bound to be a wake-up call to all if matched with their Kombucha.

Have a taste of eco-friendly magic – Green Village tour (3 hours)
Take a tour in the Green Village, Green School and bamboo factory to learn about this unique eco project.
All the villas here are made from bamboo, and they are actually built around existing trees and nature, instead of cutting down trees to build them!
TripCanvas’ Tip: Please be punctual for the tour, as they don’t wait for latecomers!

Dine amongst nature – Lunch at Terracotta (1 hour)
Dine in a terrace in the rice fields, with waddling ducks gathering their young at the end of the day.
You can even opt for a Romantic Dinner set menu with splendid dessert choices such as Assorted Sweet Temptations for two (Lemon Meringue Tart, Chocolate Mousse, Baba au Rhum and Cheesecake)!

Traditional Indonesian high tea by the pool – Folk Pool & Gardens (1 – 2 hours)
Let’s forget about Western sweets because today traditional Indonesian desserts are in the lead!
If you happen to be wandering around Ubud and looking for a place to chill at, sip a cuppa and have some delightful treats, don’t miss Folk Pool & Gardens. And yes, you get free access to the pool, which you can jump right into from your private cabana!
Time for an explosion of Indonesian flavours! Wrapped in banana leaves and displayed on a three-tiered stand, these Indonesian savouries are real surprises for your palates – each of their ingredients are locally sourced from sustainable partners of the community!
Post-tea time is spent lazing in your private cabana or simply dreaming away on the hammock and multiple colourful poufs by the pool! We warned you… forget about your bikini diet while in Bali!
If you feel the gypsy and artsy vibe here, you aren’t the only one – Folk Pool & Gardens is also a place for any boho-soul!

Chill amongst the clouds – Wanna Jungle Pool Bar (1 – 2 hours)
Nothing’s better than an adults-only spot to enjoy groovy music with your lover, with no pesky kids to ruin the mood!
Head over to Wanna Jungle Pool & Bar to experience everything a beach club has to offer, except for the beach. Yes, this is a beach club with no beach, but stunning architecture, majestic jungle views and a 3-tiered pool to match!
Grab your partner and come by on Saturdays, where you can enjoy a fun date swaying to the sounds of a live DJ!
Do you wanna?

Alternative: Why go to a beach club when you can go to a waterfall club? – D’Tukad River Club
Of course you know about Bali and its iconic beach clubs, but have you heard of the ‘waterfall club’ that’s shaking up the romantic scene?
D’Tukad River Club is Ubud’s all-new natural haven with a treehouse concept – right atop Tegenungan Waterfall. Simply climb several flights of stairs, and be wowed by the majestic streams of water that form this magical cascade!
Most guests spend their time soaking in the two-tiered pool while sipping on cocktails and munching on light-bites. Scared of getting wrinkly fingers? Catch a break on the scenic wooden terrace, or hop on the swings that hang out over the river for a quiet date with the jungle!
We love how creative party-fanatics are getting! A river club – why didn’t anyone think about this before!?

Immerse yourself in Balinese Culture – Dinner at Laka Leke (1 – 2 hours)
Laka Leke is a hidden and understated restaurant that serves up delicious traditional Indonesian dishes at affordable prices, with a view of a lotus pond. You can even enjoy Balinese dance performances!
We recommend their very tasty Nasi Campur – a steal at Rp. 50,000.

Check into your mountainous escape – Rijasa Agung Resort & Villas (1 hour)
If you’ve never swum in an infinity pool on a hillside, you should most definitely escape to the magnificent Rijasa Agung Resort.
The resort is built on a dense mountainous hillside in Ubud, with 42 spacious rooms overlooking the stunning Ayung River.
Here, you will only find tranquility and peace. It’s a luxurious sanctuary that puts you in touch with your inner self as you indulge in its natural surroundings.
This exquisite resort also offers a wide array of facilities and a two-level restaurant that serves local and international culinary delights.
PS: If you’re interested, a honeymoon package is available, inclusive of a flower bath, candlelit dinner, and a traditional Balinese massage for 2. Do note that it will be slightly pricier!

Day 4
Cooking, mountains and relaxation
A trip to Bali isn’t complete without learning about the local culture. And how best to do so besides learning how to whip up the local cuisine? You’ll bring back fond memories of both of you bonding over creating a delicious lunch for each other!
Have an early breakfast at Rijasa Agung (1 hour)
Is there anything better than having your hotel prepare your breakfast? No need for planning, travelling, or maybe even changing out of your pajamas? Unfortunately the breakfast buffet at Rijasa only starts at 7:30am, so you won’t be able to stuff yourself. Thankfully though, they’re more than happy to prepare a breakfast package for you before then.
TripCanvas’ Tip: We recommend you organise your breakfast the night before so you can dig in at around 6am and leave your hotel by 7pm latest – in order to reach your cooking class in time!

Learn to cook for your sweetheart – Bali Cooking Class (5.5 hours)
Have you fallen in love with Balinese cuisine?
Join the morning cooking class and get a hands-on cooking experience! You will also visit the local farmer’s market and get an apron and a cooking book!
Vegetarian and vegan menus are available too.
Be humbled by this monstrous volcano – Mount Batur View (1 hour)
You may not have the luxury of time to do a sunrise hike up the majestic Mount Batur, but you will be able to enjoy a good view of the mountain and the crater lake from Jalan Raya Penelokan.
Simply drive (or walk) along the road (yes, you can get unobstructed views) to find your favourite spot and plant yourself there!
Do note that the area is a bit touristy though, with many roadside stalls selling snacks and trinkets.

Sunset drinks and dinner amongst endless seas of green – Cafe Pomegranate (2 hours)
Dine literally in the middle of the paddy fields, under a billowing fabric pagoda on a raised terrace.
Come here before dark and you’ll just want to gaze out at this stunning panorama for ever.

Day 5
Indulge all your senses, from the river to a spa!
One final moment of utter romance and intense relaxation before you go.
The most unique experience – Rafting Brunch at Sthala, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Ubud Bali (2 hours)
It seems (to my surprise) that not all brunches were created equal! The proof is hidden deep in the jungles of Ubud, right at Sthala where you can set out for an almighty brunch as you raft on the river! As you enjoy the thrill of this experience, you also get to relish on the surrounding forest and blend in nature all along!
Come and brunch like no one else as you are set in a beautiful (and safe) floating raft – it is one next-level way to indulge in juicy steak sandwiches, fresh prawns, crispy pastries and their collection of delectable desserts. The package comes with various options such as an Indian or vegetarian menu.
Alternative: Dine with the rushing sounds of a river – Riverside Cafe
You can watch the sacred Ayung River rush by as you snack on fresh salads, gourmet sandwiches and crispy, thin-crust pizzas at Sayan.
Set in a hushed valley and shaded by a thatched roof and umbrellas, this is the spot where you can cool off and unwind within natural surroundings on one of those hot sweltering afternoons.
For mains, try the Grilled Tiger Prawns or Grilled Tuna Steak but leave some room for dessert – you don’t want to miss the Lemon Meringue Tart with Fresh Berries or the divine Yoghurt Panna Cotta.
If your kids behave themselves, it’s time to reward them with the premium French iced-chocolate with condiments – all chocolatey sweet yummy goodness that will delight them for the rest of the day.
Photo Via Fourseason
One final moment of utter relaxation – Beji Ayu Spa (1 hour)
Who doesn’t love a good two-in-one? At Beji Ayu Spa, you’ll get not just a great couple massage, but a great view as well!
Beji Ayu focuses on giving you a soothing experience by harnessing nature’s energy, chakra and spirituality to reinforce your love for each other!
Step through the doors, enter a world of Balinese sculptures and zen gardens, and get ready to be pampered like a god and goddess.

Home
As always, going home is the worst part of every journey. Though isn’t it exciting to go back and start your lives together as a married couple? Soon you’ll be having kids, and then it’s about time for another trip to Bali! Perhaps this family friendly itinerary might catch your eye?
Best time to travel
-
Bali has a reliable, warm and tropical climate all year round.
-
Temperatures generally linger between 26°C and 28°C, except for places located on higher grounds like Ubud and Bedugul (where it would be more chilly!).
-
The dry season is generally from May to September, and the wet season from October to April.
-
In May, June, September (non-peak period), you will find that prices of accommodation are 30% to 50% cheaper than peak season rates. Plus, you still get great dry season weather most of the time.
-
April and October are great if you enjoy watersports, such as surfing, as the waves are good at this time of year. You might have some refreshing rain showers, but you will also see plenty of sunshine. These are also great months to travel with children as most theme parks and attractions are quieter, and getting around would be less crowded and stressful.
-
Peak season in Bali is July and August, as well as Easter holidays, Christmas and New Year
Getting around
It’s definitely much more convenient to either stick to the ever-reliable Bluebird taxis, Grab and Go-Jek, or simply opt for reliable car rental options with a driver and/or guide. If you’re absolutely confident about driving in Indonesia, then skip the driver/guide!
1. Our recommendation: Renting a car with private driver

2. For the pros: Renting a car without driverTravel Budget- Estimated Cost Breakdown
