Have you always wanted to travel to beautiful locations like Italy and Spain with your significant other? Make sure you travel to Bali.
It’s not only equally (if not, more) beautiful, and you get to not only live in villas with gorgeous views, but also enjoy many exciting activities (such as these 48 things to do that prove that Bali is the craziest) – that are sure to inject more passion and adventure in your relationship.
There are plenty of hidden gems to be enjoyed together within Bali, and one romantic thing to do as a couple especially – is to dine at an uber romantic location
Without further ado, check out these 18 ultra romantic restaurants that allow you to gaze endlessly into the sparkling ocean (and also into the eyes of your special someone, of course).
1. Japanese delicacies at sunset by the sea – Sake No Hana
If you’re a fan of sushi, the only way it can get better is eating it fresh right at the shoreline. Sake no Hana offers top-tier sushi and sashimi, bringing Japanese flavours from the establishment’s original city of London, UK (on St James Street) to Bali.
Overlooking the Indian Ocean and OMNIA Dayclub Bali, this is the best place for a delicious seafood dinner paired with jaw-dropping views if you sit outdoors. But if you want something on the cozier side, snag a spot indoors and relax in the intimate setting, tucked away behind open-air wood panels.
Sake No Hana is definitely not afraid to get creative with their menu options – they offer a selection of the freshest possible sushi rolls and sashimi at the sushi bar, and a specific menu of grill, toban, and kamameshi dish choices.
Among the many different dining options, we can guarantee one thing: the only way you’ll leave hungry is if you’re too busy staring at the view instead of eating! Add a refreshing cocktail or two, and you have everything you need for a wonderful night!2. Fresh healthy food on the sand – Soul on the Beach
If there’s one thing Bali knows how to do well, it’s food. And Soul on the Beach, a beachfront café, is no exception to this rule.
Though beanbag beach lounging is dime a dozen in Bali, and the cafés that line the beaches are endless, Soul on the Beach boasts a slightly different agenda than many run-of-the-mill beach cafés, by serving up… health food!
With dishes that involve a ton of fresh fruits and vegetables, you’re sure to leave here full, but with zero guilt knowing that you ate something delicious and healthy. From fresh summer salads to bruschetta and flatbread, even picky eaters are guaranteed to find something they would love.
This cafe also uses recycled teak wood and hand-painted tiles, so not just your body but the environment will love it too!
Plus, you gotta love a café where you can immediately go for a dip in the sea (the sea along Sanur’s coastline are calm and safe for swimming!) upon paying your bill, or one where you can sit back, sip a cocktail, and watch the sunset as the day fades into night.
3. 500 Feet-high clifftop bar with a glass-bottomed infinity pool – One Eighty
What’s bringing clifftop infinity pools to a different level?
A crystal blue glass-bottomed infinity pool overlooking the Indian Ocean, that stretches all the way out from the cliff 500 feet high, creating a gravity-defying concrete-encased lagoon with a million-dollar view – the highlight of One Eighty, a new sophisticated bar and restaurant that’s a recent addition to The Edge Villas at Uluwatu.
Before you know it, you’ll be floating in mid-air with the sweeping waves crashing beneath you.
The pool is not the only gorgeous thing about One Eighty. The menu is also superbly designed by Bali’s own Chef Nyoman – the globetrotting chef who is the mastermind behind Seminyak’s famous Bambu Restaurant, well-known for its Indonesian cuisine.
Inspired by the same opulence and luxury of The Edge’s beach culture, One Eighty brings you the amazing sensation of perched on the very edge of the world.
Expect a classic beachside food selection such as Deluxe Shrimp Po’boy with a side of salmon roe, tabasco, fries and more, Giant Papuan Prawns drenched in kemangi butter, Baby Back Ribs soaked in rosemary honey butter with coleslaw, and Baja Fish Tacos.
So chill in the VIP deck and order up a watermelon cooler or other cocktails for the summer. There’s also a high tea menu for your clifftop oasis enjoyment. Just know that everything is going to be served with a view here!
4. An ancient Chinese temple that now serves sushi by the sea – Ji at Balesutra
After dining at Ji at Balesutra, where you can have your sushi while overlooking the azure horizon of the Indian Ocean, you won’t want your sashimi anywhere else.
Located right on Canggu Beach, this acclaimed Japanese restaurant serves much-raved-about lobsters and pork meals, on top of their sushi.
With a touch of Japanese and Chinese blended with other Asian flavours, you are set to indulge in a unique culinary voyage by the sea right on a traditional Balinese bale.
While you know we always look out for the non-stop parade of chic eateries and the fresh coats of paint tropical Bali gets on the daily, sometimes “shiny and new” is just not what we’re after; Ji is a hidden gem on our list for its sheer uniqueness alone.
Get ready to travel back in time with the multiple antiques you will find around the restaurant.
Originally a Chinese temple that had undergone a series of facelifts, its historic bones have thankfully been kept beautifully intact on the inside while giving the Ji Terrace a contemporary and playful look!
5. A side of beachfront music with your dinner – B9B
Combine amazing, delicious and fresh food, a beach and live music – what do you get? A recipe for a really great night!
At Blue 9 Beach Bar and Restaurant (B9B), the location isn’t the only winning point for this hip and fun little beachside restaurant. From your typical Western dishes like pizza, baked sandwiches to regional Indonesian dishes such as the delicious Nasi Goreng, we promise you’ll leave this café with a full belly.
Or, grab a side of fries (on one of their signature fish-shaped serving platters), a fruity cocktail (or a thirst-quenching freshly cracked coconut), and get ready to settle in to listen to a live acoustic band play for you as the sun sinks beyond the distant horizon!
6. Pick fresh seafood away from the Jimbaran crowd: Starfish Bloo (W Bali Seminyak)
