Bali is one of the classic beach club destinations. Just like hipster cafes and scenic restaurants, the island is dotted with cool hangout spots for you to enjoy endless sea, sand, sun to the beats of world-class DJs and a side of funky cocktails.

For real party goers, you’ll love the beach club scene in Canggu. The area offers countless opportunities to dance from morning to night. If you are looking for chill beach vibes (such as, with your family), the region down south Bali might be a better option for you. Both Ungasan and Jimbaran offer dreamy beachside chill-out spots where you can enjoy fantastic sea views, fine cuisine and expertly mixed cocktails.

Seminyak offers a good mix of both. There’s a combination of laidback, elegant and cool beach clubs as well as vibrant and glamorous venues. It’s a good option if you’re visiting Bali for the first time as most beach clubs are easily accessible.

But with so many amazing options, it can be hard to narrow it down. We’ve put together a list of the hottest beach clubs in Bali, with something for everyone – whether you’re one to dance on top of tables or chill on a bean bag. The best bit? The ones listed below have no entrance fee!

1. World-class music, amazing food and unrivaled beach setting – Tropical Temptation Beach Club

Bali’s latest hot ticket is none other than the incredible Tropical Temptation Beach Club. Nestled on the foreshore of Melasti Beach, the venue feels worlds away from the more raucous spots in Canggu. Yet, it’s grown to be an absolute crowd-pleaser. Perhaps, we have to blame it on their ability to welcome a total of up to 500 people all at once…

Tropical Temptation Beach Club is a place unlike anywhere else on the island – there’s not one but two wonderful infinity pools from which you can enjoy spectacular ocean views from supersized daybeds. If you’ve booked yourself a premium bottle service, prepare to be welcomed and escorted right from the entrance door to your table, where your bottles await.

At the restaurant, the menu spins local ingredients in many different ways while celebrating farmers and artisans – Indomie Lobster and Indomie Wagyu Beef are some of the super creative dishes they’ve come up with.

Post-lunch, you could retreat in one of their indoor VVIP rooms or dip in the swimming pool while waiting for the magical sun to set in. Every Thursday to Sunday, there are close encounters with DJs and musicians who throw some of the best events on the island. From Balinese cultural performances to foam party sunset rituals, there’s really something to please everyone!

3. Infinite ocean views from a traditional boat: MÏnoo Beach Club

Washing up on the shore of romantic Melasti Beach (where couples flock to for gorgeous pre-wedding photoshoots), MÏnoo Beach Club is still considered a hidden gem where you can get relatively affordable snacks and cocktails – which is uncommon in Ungasan, an area known for its luxury resorts and glamorous beach clubs with equally bling price tags.

Photo Via-raymarta

In other words – over here, you get to enjoy the Melasti beach sunset without the crowd and hefty price!

Photo Via – andre_simsek93,ekaayanti09,wikegabriela

MÏnoo’s iconic traditional fishing boat (also known as a Jukung), perched right on its beachfront infinity pool, is the first thing you will notice as you step in. It’s also undoubtedly an impressive vantage point – and of course an Instagrammable photo spot – where you can swim up, cocktail in hand, and be closer to the ocean on deck!

Photo Via – ricalthablythe,dynione,ditaputra_wirawan

It’s no surprise that MÏnoo is synonymous with ‘paradise’ in Persian – think lazy Ibiza vibes with toes in the sand, while weekends are jazzed up by DJs at sunset!

4. More than just a beach club – Locca Sea House

On the quieter side of the island, in Jimbaran, you’ll find Locca Sea House which has become an endlessly talked-about beach club in Bali.

Photo Via Royaltulipspringhill

To put things into perspective, it’s more than just a place to chill – the venue aims to combine local culture and arts to provide an experience like never before.

At the forefront of what they do is social sustainability – the creation of Locca itself was led by a group of local artists including musicians and painters. At the restaurant, centuries-old recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation are brought back to life with a modern twist.

Photo Via Malvava

The best bit? Their Nusantara cocktails – the perfect combination of Nusantara spices and liquors turned into delicious colourful concoctions.

Sun-seeking visitors are invited to pre-book one of their daybeds by the swimming pool – the best seat in the house for spectacular sunset views. Their all-day soundtrack is a blend of groovy beats meet world music.

And while Locca Sea House can’t claim to be the most glitzy beach club on the island, it is definitely revolutionizing the party scene by making it all the more meaningful.

5. Peer over the edge of Bali – Ulu Cliff House

Hidden in the cliffs of Uluwatu lies Ulu Cliff House, a hotel, a restaurant, and most importantly, a beach club. Not only does this place have an expansive pool to either laze about in or get in your weekly exercise, the best part comes when you take a trip down a set of stairs.

Photo Via Myguidebali

Located on the side of the cliff, sitting slightly above the crashing waves, is a sunbed terrace! If you’re lucky enough to be able to snag a seat here, then you better make sure you don’t leave unless you’re planning on going home!

Photo Via Jess_bertolani, Foodirectory

Due to the limited number of spaces, spending your day at this secluded spot can be likened to spending time on a private island, luxuries included! Just be sure you’re ready to spend the minimum amount, as it’s quite a lot – super worth it though!

Head down another set of stairs and you’ll find yourself with your toes in the sand, and mere meters away from the soothing, cool waves. Spend a little bit of time down here before heading back up and ordering one of their scrumptious meals!

6. Come to chill amongst the hidden cliffs of Pandawa – Roosterfish Beach Club

A stark contrast to the grey cliffs of Pandawa, Roosterfish is a breath of fresh air. Expansive greenery and a bright blue pool greet you as you make your way down to the beach, a hidden paradise almost!

Floating bean bags dot around the pool to add a pop of colour, a little pink here, and a little blue there make for a soothing sight. An added bonus, those of you staying in Renaissance Hotel nearby are able to get a free shuttle service to the beach club, is there any better reason to book a stay there?

The exterior is made of all wood, a true way to get yourself closer to nature. Topped off with thatched roofs, Roosterfish will succeed in transporting you to another realm!

If you truly want to escape the masses of Bali, make your way over to Pandawa beach where life moves slower, and the crowds get thinner. It’s perfect for those of you who want to experience a little peace and quiet, and especially if you have kids, they’ll love being able to roam around without having to worry about getting lost in the crowd!

That’s not to say Roosterfish doesn’t know how to liven up the party, head over to their Instagram to keep up with a multitude of events that they host every now and again. Ranging from DJ performances, to musical festivals, to casual parties, there’s nothing that they don’t do! Or if you’re happy to party it up yourself, head to their swim up bar and order a multitude of their best cocktails so you can keep things real easy.

While you can easily spend your whole day there, you may find yourself going a little hungry! Thankfully, they also have a selection of delicious platters to munch on. Pair it with a juicy coconut to quench your thirst, or a sweet cocktail, and your meal is sure to be complete! One thing’s for sure, Roosterfish is all about big icy drinks, buckets of beer, wood-fired pizzas, and big seafood BBQ. You’ll find just what you’re looking for here!

7. Culture, creativity, culinary and music meet at Mari Beach Club

Culture, creativity, culinary and music combine to create an exciting atmosphere at Mari Beach Club. The exclusive venue sits on Bali’s golden mile of Batu Belig Beach. Inside, everything pays tribute to the real Bali.

At the entrance, The Dome with its majestic height, allows arriving guests to journey through a cosmos of artful bamboo installation resembling the majestic Gunung Agung. Rice terraces have also been a significant source of inspiration for the beach club’s landscape. A series of layered steps create the intentional and dynamic Terrace Lounge.

10. Hideaway at this eco-friendly paradise – Azul Beach Club

In almost every movie set in a tropical paradise, you’ll find a treehouse perched on the shores of a pristine beach, just meters away from the constant lapping of the waves. In Bali, it’s hard to believe it, but these experiences are hard to come by! Well, Azul Beach Club has very kindly offered a solution to that problem.

On the coast of Legian Beach lies a three-tiered treehouse, with roughly three quarters of it being made from locally sourced bamboo, it feels as good as it looks, amazing!

Start your day bright and early with a dip in their emerald pool, or hop into their jacuzzi while sipping their irresistible Tiki cocktails. There’s no better feeling than the sun beating down on your face, the wind blowing your hair around and making it go wild, and the little tickle of bubbles around your body in a jetted pool!

Once the sun starts to dip a little, and it becomes slightly more socially acceptable for you to drink, then go ham, and indulge in more of their cocktails – served adorably in a variety of different Tiki cups! Talk about the ultimate island experience!

Whether you’re in Bali for a week, or you only have a few hours, Azul Beach Club could be your first choice given that it’s only approximately 20 minutes from the airport. Nusa Ceningan / Lembongan Beach Clubs

18. Explore a secluded island – Le Pirate Nusa Ceningan

A quick hop on a boat will take you to this incredible little island, a place that’s reminiscent of how Bali was before it got popular, before the crowds came in droves, and before the island moved too fast.

If you truly want to experience what Bali was like before everything blew up, Nusa Ceningan should be on the top of your bucket list! You could even stay a night or two on the island and spend a little more time escaping!

If that’s the case, definitely take a few trips to Le Pirate, swim in their gorgeous pool overlooking the Indian ocean, or sip on some cocktails whilst sitting on one of their chaise lounges! Decorated to look like a scene out of the flintstones, Le Pirate really lives up to its name! Arrr mateys!
