Anyone you go to for advice on where to stay in Bali will most likely direct you to its hippest district – Seminyak, but you know what no one tells you? Where the heck in Seminyak. The area is vast, covering a multitude of streets, each with a different vibe, so how on earth are you supposed to decide?!

Now, if just like me you don’t drive or at least don’t intend on taking the risk of doing so in Bali, then chances are that all your precious money will be spent on e-hailing apps to go around cafes, spas and other attractions.

But don’t despair, I’ve found the best solution to this and it is – Bali’s Eat Street. This stretch in Seminyak is filled with trendy shops, hipster cafes, cheap massage parlours, lively bars and you can find affordable stays that are located within walking distance so you can skip on having to rent a bike with driver and simply walk out from your hotel and poof… you’ll be right in the middle of the action!

Where to stay in Seminyak: 20 Hotels/ Villas/ Resorts where you can enjoy Bali’s hippest area with trendiest shops, restaurants beaches and more!

21 Hippest things to do in Seminyak (Bali) where you can eat, shop and party!

15 Affordable and delicious breakfast cafes and restaurants in central Bali (Seminyak, Kuta, Ubud, Canggu!)

Note: The prices reflected below are low season rates, and they exclude tax and service charges. Accommodation rates often change with room availability and low or high seasons. We recommend double-checking for the final prices before confirming your booking.

1. A little hidden gem peacefully tucked – KutaVille Villa

While Bali sure has big names in hospitality (ahem, most of the resorts along the beach); you can also find great affordable finds that provide good service and comfortable rooms. One of them is KutaVille Villa.

Personally, having been to Bali countless number of times, this is still my favourite option; not because it’s got fancy perks but rather because of its location. Being right at the end of Eat Street, KutaVille Villa is slap bang in the middle of the action yet far enough for some peace and quiet time at night, and it comes without extortionate prices – I have to say that it’s quite a deal if you’re more about convenience than luxury.

And rather than typical hotel rooms, you get a bungalow/villa which although being simple, comes extra spacious and you can opt for one with direct pool view (yes, they have a pool although they’re that affordable). From there, you can easily walk out to a bunch of cafes and shops, convenience stores are aplenty, while Kayu Aya Beach is a short 8-minute walk away!

2. How about staying right in a mall? – Seminyak Square Hotel

If Seminyak Square Hotel isn’t convenient enough for you, then I don’t know what will. From here, you simply have to step out of your room to be among a row of cafes, shops and stalls! That means, you get to go down your hotel for a delicious breakfast at Bali’s cutest cafes and you won’t miss on the parties at the ever-so-popular La Favela as it is just a short 8-minutes walk from the hotel!

Now, we have to confess that the rooms here are nothing fancy, rather they’re where you’ll feel at home – especially good for those of you who plan on spending the whole time out and only looking for a place to get some sleep at the end of the day.

This is a good option if you’re travelling with family and friends and just want some me-time at the end of the day – while they enjoy the comfort of the room or a dip in the pool, you can take a leisurely walk along the lively street and stop by dessert spots and massage parlours too!

3. Get your Bali villa experience here (for cheap!) – Amasya Villas

Can you really say you’ve been to Bali if you don’t experience a villa stay? There’s something so unique about it; but most of the time, those villas come with an expensive price tag and they are also away from the action, located off in a quiet area.

6. Enjoy the local touch! – Kubu Guest House

Every now and then, I love opting for a guest house while on holiday. Staying with locals is something incomparable; especially if it’s your first time at the specific destination; your host will take delight in keeping you informed about the hidden gems and top places to visit.

Out of the 17 units at Kubu Guest House, only 3 of them are available for nightly rental so you’ll have to book in advance to ensure you get to stay at one of Seminyak’s most convenient location!

Now, if you’re looking for a quiet little abode, away from the action of the main street, then this isn’t for you. In fact, it can get pretty noisy but if that’s your kind of scene, you’re in for an absolute deal!

8. Your private pool villa under $60! – Jas Green Villas and Spa

What’s more synonymous to Bali than private pool villas? They come in all forms, but it’s rare to find one that’s affordable. 9. Experience home away from home! – M & D Guesthouse

This is a little gem I discovered when I was doing some last minute booking for my end of year holiday in Bali. Of course, who waits for December to start looking for hotels to stay at during Christmas and New Year? Late planners (guilty).

Among all of the other overly-priced accommodation options, I stumbled upon M & D Guesthouse for under $40 per night and that’s during the peak holiday season; I was stunned!

You’ll be set off a little alley, close to the main street (4-minutes walk) and they have a pool you can come back to after all the eating and shopping.

10. 2 minutes walk to the beach, 5 minutes walk to cafes! – Amerta Seminyak

Make yourself at home when you check into Amerta Seminyak; the boutique hotel is conveniently located a few minutes walk from the beach, as well as the row of cafes and shops along Bali’s Eat Street (Jalan Kayu Aya).

This is a good option if you prefer being real close to the beach and its laid back vibe, without being too far from the action of the main street. Take a leisurely stroll of 2 minutes and reach up to Kayu Aya Beach, laze the day away and at lunch time you won’t struggle to find a quality restaurant to eat at as you’ll simply have to walk for a short 5 minute to reach Jalan Kayu Aya – known as Bali’s first area that cemented the food culture! My personal recommendation would be to check out Revolver Espresso; an almost speakeasy cafe!

Convenient location aside, Amerta Seminyak comes with all your necessary comforts – you’ll find a pool and restaurant, while previous guests have highlighted about the spacious rooms and hospitable staff.

11. Do you have outdoor bathroom goals? – Mutiara Bali Boutique Resort Villas & Spa

Comfortable rooms, suitable location and affordable prices are what define Mutiara Bali as a convenient stay. It does not have much in terms of quirky designs but we’d choose this location over anything, anytime!

It seems that you don’t always have to fork out a big amount of money to enjoy being in the lively and hippest district of Bali. Being here also means you get your whole influx of hipster cafes, picture-perfect breakfast spots, fun and exciting bars, cute bohemian-style shops as well as a quirky market to stock on Bali-style maxi dresses.

There’s no way you can go wrong with Mutiara Bali; whether you’re staying in a room or opt to upgrade to a private pool villa. You’ll also find a restaurant, spa and gym for your every vacation need!
