Anyone you go to for advice on where to stay in Bali will most likely direct you to its hippest district – Seminyak, but you know what no one tells you? Where the heck in Seminyak. The area is vast, covering a multitude of streets, each with a different vibe, so how on earth are you supposed to decide?!

Now, if just like me you don’t drive or at least don’t intend on taking the risk of doing so in Bali, then chances are that all your precious money will be spent on e-hailing apps to go around cafes, spas and other attractions.

But don’t despair, I’ve found the best solution to this and it is – Bali’s Eat Street. This stretch in Seminyak is filled with trendy shops, hipster cafes, cheap massage parlours, lively bars and you can find affordable stays that are located within walking distance so you can skip on having to rent a bike with driver and simply walk out from your hotel and poof… you’ll be right in the middle of the action!

If Seminyak Square Hotel isn’t convenient enough for you, then I don’t know what will. From here, you simply have to step out of your room to be among a row of cafes, shops and stalls! Now, we have to confess that the rooms here are nothing fancy, rather they’re where you’ll feel at home – especially good for those of you who plan on spending the whole time out and only looking for a place to get some sleep at the end of the day.

This is a good option if you’re travelling with family and friends and just want some me-time at the end of the day – while they enjoy the comfort of the room or a dip in the pool, you can take a leisurely walk along the lively street and stop by dessert spots and massage parlours too!

4. If you’re here for the party – d’primahotel Seminyak

What’s better than being able to simply step out of your room and walk over to one of Bali’s best party spots? d’primahotel Seminyak is located just opposite Motel Mexicola. It’s the ideal spot to base yourself if you’re here for wild nights with your best friends!

Now, if you’re looking for a quiet little abode, away from the action of the main street, then this isn’t for you. In fact, it can get pretty noisy but if that’s your kind of scene, you’re in for an absolute deal!

The rooms at d’primahotel Seminyak are known to be comfortable, equipped with a balcony and some of them have direct pool access (that is if you’re willing to splurge a little more). Besides all of what’s waiting outside, you’ll also get to enjoy the convenience of having a spa, restaurant, room service and they also organise traditional Balinese cooking classes right within the property.

5. 2 minutes walk to the beach, 5 minutes walk to cafes! – Amerta Seminyak

Make yourself at home when you check into Amerta Seminyak; the boutique hotel is conveniently located a few minutes walk from the beach, as well as the row of cafes and shops along Bali’s Eat Street (Jalan Kayu Aya).

This is a good option if you prefer being real close to the beach and its laid back vibe, without being too far from the action of the main street. Take a leisurely stroll of 2 minutes and reach up to Kayu Aya Beach, laze the day away and at lunch time you won’t struggle to find a quality restaurant to eat at as you’ll simply have to walk for a short 5 minute to reach Jalan Kayu Aya – known as Bali’s first area that cemented the food culture! My personal recommendation would be to check out Revolver Espresso; an almost speakeasy cafe!

Convenient location aside, Amerta Seminyak comes with all your necessary comforts – you’ll find a pool and restaurant, while previous guests have highlighted about the spacious rooms and hospitable staff.

6. Do you have outdoor bathroom goals? – Mutiara Bali Boutique Resort Villas & Spa

Comfortable rooms, suitable location and affordable prices are what define Mutiara Bali as a convenient stay. It does not have much in terms of quirky designs but we’d choose this location over anything, anytime!

It seems that you don’t always have to fork out a big amount of money to enjoy being in the lively and hippest district of Bali. Being here also means you get your whole influx of hipster cafes, picture-perfect breakfast spots, fun and exciting bars, cute bohemian-style shops as well as a quirky market to stock on Bali-style maxi dresses.
