9 unique stays with private beach in Bali that will give all the privacy you need

So why not put a little imagination into your next beach holiday?

At these nine Bali beach accommodations, you can bask in some sand-and-sea escapades, at your very own ‘private’ beaches (though no beaches are legally private in Bali, these select few are only accessible via the hotels and villas due to their locations).

So you can just imagine the privacy you get – you can just spend that quiet time together with your loved ones, or simply enjoy your beach adventures without having to squeeze and elbow flocks of tourists while you get around!

1. Beach jaunt by horse carriage – Hotel Tugu

In Canggu, the closest neighbour to the north of popular Seminyak Beach, you and your sweetheart can enjoy an old-school horse-drawn carriage ride on your private beach while the sun and the sea merge at infinity.

And when you return, enjoy a romantic night-cap in your private lounge on the sand.

In order to partake, you’ll need to stay in one of Hotel Tugu’s dramatically decorated suites chock full of color and Indonesian artifacts. Indonesia’s most romantic tales, legends, and folklore are the inspiration for each villa’s distinctive décor.

2. Beach-inspired spiritual space – Villa Semarapura

If you’re traveling with a larger group but still want some unique beach inspiration, a bit further north from Canggu at Tanah Lot is the lovely Villa Semarapura.

You’ll fall out the doorstep onto Cemagi Beach and a rock sea temple called Pura Gede Luhur Batungaus.

The villa is aptly named Semarapura, which means “temple of peace” in Sanskrit. Your spirit will be enthused while you relax in this beautiful setting.

This unique 5,000-square-metre home away from home has plenty of room for friends and family. It sleeps 10 to 12 people and offers four bedrooms.

Included with your stay are the services of a villa manager, private chef, butlers, housekeepers, gardener, pool attendant, engineer and four security guards. A car and driver are at your service for $25 a day plus petrol.

3. Horseback by the sand, sea and sunset – The Samaya

If you’re seeking a holiday amidst the glittery Bali nightlife, we’ve got you covered too.

5. Have your vows witnessed by 300 doves – Banyan Tree Bali

Banyan Tree Bali in nearby Ungasan is such a heavenly place – it may very well be one of the most beautiful oceanfront wedding sites in the world.

The White Dove Chapel on the hillside overlooking the ocean was designed by celebrated Indonesian architect Sardjono Sani, and there are 300 white dove replicas built into the side of the chapel.

Amanusa in Nusa Dua conjures up a life-in-paradise dream – that’s worth having again and again.

The private Amanusa Beach Club is located on the beachfront of National Golf Club. Jaunt over from the white sand at your leisure for a round on the beautiful course.

From the Amanusa Beach Club you’ll enjoy all day lounging on one of nine beach bales. Each bale offers two sun-loungers.

Our favorite unique activity here is paddling over to Nusa Bagus and Nusa Peninsula islands directly from the private beach.

When you return from your adventure at sea, take a load off in one of these beach loungers.

8. Surf under the moonlight – Hotel Komune

For an upscale beach holiday with a surfing theme, you can delve into Hotel Komune on Keramas Beach, about 24 km northeast of Sanur.

While surfing alone may not be an extraordinary beach activity, the experience from Komune Beach Club provides a unique flavor.

From the grassy area next to the club you can watch popular movies or live streams of the latest surf events from around the world within feet of the sand.

Hotel Komune has the world’s first permanent night surfing installation.  With a cocktail in hand, you can enjoy watching the tricks of moonlit night surfers.

Dolphins are often seen from the beach in North Bali.
