Should you stay in Seminyak or Kuta?

Both Seminyak and Kuta offer a wide range of hotels, restaurants, shops and beautiful beaches for soaking up the sun. If you can’t decide between the two, we can only say this – Kuta is known for its bustling nightlife with pubs and bars, as well as surfing. However it has been badly affected during the pandemic and is still slowly recovering, so you might find that it’s quieter than usual.

Seminyak, on the other hand, is a more upscale area with a more relaxed atmosphere, with trendy cafes and restaurants, as well as boutiques where you can shop for beachwear and tropical dresses. It has bounced back even stronger after the pandemic and is very popular with tourists now. Here, you can also easily find beauty salons where you can do your hair, nails, lashes and more!

Both couples and families love to stay in Seminyak, and it’s not hard to see why. Many beach resorts and villas here offer couples packages that include private romantic dining, couples massages and spas, and private beachfront cabanas.

If you’ve got energetic older kids, why not join in exciting activities in the main pool such as water aerobics? A healthy family works out together!

If your little ones are still not tired, they would have discovered these fun water slides in the kids’ pool, where they can splash around safely. Or bring them to the resort’s Wolly Kids Club and Games Centre, where they will be entertained with a variety of activities for the day.

Then, head to The Spa for more me-time, or if you can’t bear to leave your little ones behind any longer, there’s mother-and-daughter treatments too! Don’t miss the cooking classes (sign the little ones up for the kids’ version – they get to make pizza and decorate cupcakes!) or even the free morning yoga classes! So much to do, so little time!

Our stay at W Bali Seminyak was one of our most memorable experiences in Bali, and one of our favourite is their tiered oceanfront infinity pool, where you can rent a floatie or chill right on their giant floating bean bags. You can even hear groovy beats from Woobar from the pool’s edge!

When the sun sets, make sure you secure a good spot either at the pool or at one of their comfy gazebos on the beach. Add on a cocktail or mocktail and you’ll have a perfect sundown experience.

Also, don’t miss their Sunday brunch at their beachside restaurant, Starfish Bloo. Dig into fresh seafood and a colourful array of international cuisine, ranging from Indian, Chinese, to Japanese and more.

And the most unforgettable experience is a pampering session at their AWAY Spa, which you shouldn’t miss if you love a good spa like we do! Besides their soothing massages (which is very different from the usual Balinese massages you find on the streets), their spa experience also comes with a hot tub, steam room, oxygen room and cold plunge pool!

After the spa, you can chill at their relaxing area where you’ll be served juice and fruits, as well as take a relaxing shower at their grooming room (which comes with all sorts of makeup and hair products too)!

With the pool access rooms on the ground floor, simply slide open the glass doors of your room to get to the pool.

Of course, don’t forget to close the curtains when you’re changing in the room, or simply want some privacy. A good thing about Lotus Tirta is that it’s approximately 700 meters from Seminyak Beach, and there are many interesting cafes and places that can be reached with just a short walk!

If you’re interested, there are several rooms you can choose according to your needs; a room for two, or 2 and 3 bedroom villas when you are traveling with family or friends.
