If there’s one thing I love more than cooking, it’s baking. Unfortunately the extent of my skills cannot match the ones of those professional bakers! ESPECIALLY the decorations; most of my creations come out looking like a pile of mud (albeit a tasty pile of mud) and I’m left pining after unicorn fondant, decadent buttercream, and cookies that aren’t burnt at the bottom.

Cheese cakes take a certain amount of patience, finesse, and of course, talent! From the sugar to the base to the flavouring, the art of cream cheese takes time! So I leave it to the experts, which is exactly what DORÉ by LeTAO is. They adore crepe cakes, filling the space between each layer with expertly crafted cream cheese, and they do best with fruits! Adding mangoes, strawberries, and even sweet flowers to each cake, whatever you choose to try will be a bit of exploration!

10. Get your sweet tooth taken care of: SUCRE by Sheila

If you’re feeling a little down in the dumps because you’ve been in the house too long, but you’re still a little lazy to go get your sugar fix, then buckle up because SUCRE is your answer. Literally meaning ‘sugar’ in French, this place doesn’t hold back on the sweet stuff, they specialise in pudding cakes which have just the right amount of creaminess to go along with the spongy cake texture!

If you’ve got the stomach space to pack it away, order a few of each of their pudding cakes: chocolate, pandan, red velvet, vanilla banana are just a few that come to mind as delicious! Don’t forget one of their chunky chocolate cookies too!

From their signature Ovomaltine Cheesecake concoction, to a selection of Macarons, choosing to limit your order to one or two is something I challenge you to try, you’ll fail!

Something that stands out about Collette and Lola is the ability to order whole cakes, so if it’s someone’s birthday then this is definitely the place to look to! For solo cheat meals, a slice will do, just make sure to choose wisely, may I suggest the Lychee Rose?
